Our New Condo

So as most of you know, Rachel and I have bought a new condo that we are hoping to close tomorrow or the next day. To clear up some confusion, this condo is basically an apartment but a little bigger (one bedroom bigger) and everything is redone. But here are some photos I took.

Jazz Game

We went to the Jazz/Celtic game tonight. Tragically they lost. But it was a very entertaining game.

They gave hats to everyone there. Some guy behind us spilled beer and it got on Rachel's hat and jacket. Douche! But everything got better when we bought our delicious Red Mango frozen yogurts. Those are so freaking awesome. Can't be missed!

Restaurant Review : Chadder's

We've all been dieing for Utah to get an In-N-Out. Well, we've got something close in American Fork. The address is 599 West Pacific Drive, American Fork. It's by the new Costco. It is quite literally an exact replica of In-N-Out. In fact, they are even being sued by In-N-Out for copying its menu and design and secret menu. Well, this all this commotion, and my love of In-N-Out, I decided to stop by to see what the fuss was about. I walked in and the floor plan is EXACTLY like In-N-Out. The menu is basically the same. I ordered a double-double (called a Stubby Double) and I ordered in animal style (Stubby style). I received the food. It was pretty close to the same in taste, but not quite there. Very close though. I think the difference is that the patties are probably not fresh but frozen. But overall, it certainly reminded me of the greatness that is In-N-Out. I give in 4 stars out of 5.

Weekend Fun

Yesterday (Friday), Rachel and I went to one of Rachel's friend's cabin. We went with 3 other couples. The cabin is up past Oakley and it was super awesome because you can only drive so far before we had to snowmobile in. And because we got there about midnight Friday night, it reminded me of working at Deer Valley. Good times. But we got there and the cabin was so freaking nice. Way huge. But we brought our Nintendo Wii and we brought Guitar Hero 3. Dan and I stayed up most of the night playing. Dan is from England and he was obsessed with the game but it was tons of fun. Then in the morning we cruised around on the snow mobiles. Then we went to the Jazz game tonight. It was great to finally get a win and to break the 6 game losing skid. We must be lucky charms because they have never lost when we have attended.

Restaurant Review: Red Mango

This food review is a little different. One, it is not really a restaurant....yet. And two, it is dessert. Red Mango is a frozen yogurt chain that is making its' way to Utah. Currently it is only found in the Engergy Solutions Areana, but soon to be in the Fort Union area and Orem. Rachel and I saw the shop at the Jazz game tonight and we each bought a frozen yogurt. The yogurt alone was to die for, (I sound like Mom). But you also can ad toppings to it. In the first sample before we bought into it, they put Fruity Pebbles on top and that was yummo. But when I ordered I chose to have blackberries on top and Rachel chose blueberries. It was so good that when the stores open, we will become regulars. We give it 5 stars.

Movie Review : I AM LEGEND

Last night Rachel and I went to go see the new hit movie: I am Legend. It stars Will Smith. One thing that you first have to notice is that Will Smith does not make bad movies....with the exception of Wild Wild West. So I went to this movie with great expectations. I was not disappointed. I am Legend is a scary, on the verge of disturbing, movie about how a virus kills like 98% percent of the worlds population. The survivors all turned into these creepy zombie/vampire monsters that are vicious attacking creatures who cannot be out during the day because UV rays will kill them. So the story is Will Smith is immune to the virus and he's the last of the human world trying to find a cure for the virus. That is the extent of my spoilers. But this movie was very scary in my opinion. Rachel and I give it a B+, even though Rachel didn't like the movie because it was scary.
Final word: see the movie if you are in the mood for a good scare.

Asian Star Review

This evening, Rachel and I went out to eat at the Asian Star. It is located 7588 South Union Park Ave. ( 1300 East ) in Salt Lake City. I was very impressed at the interior decoration. Very nice. We sat down and looked at the menu and decided to skip away from the traditional lettuce wraps (which we love), but decided to get an appetizer of pot stickers. I highly recommend them. They were very tasty. I ordered sesame chicken and Rachel ordered cashew chicken. They were both very good, but I think I liked the cashew chicken a little more. It would have been better without the celery in it but Rachel disagrees with me.
The service was fair, with nothing to brag about. And my gripe was the fact that there were several of the drink refillers who did not speak English, which made for some awkward moments. All in all, I give it four stars out of five. There is this delivery Chinese food where we live that is to die for. That's right, to die for. And its cheaper.

Restaurant Reviews

Rachel and I usually like to eat out on a Friday or Saturday night. Often we go to the plain ole Chili's or Applebees's , but lately we've been trying new places to eat that we have never been to before. Well, the idea hit me that I should blog a review for the restaurants that we go to, so that others can read and maybe hit some great places to eat in Salt Lake. So, with that being said, if you have any suggestions for places you have heard of but never been, or places that you've been and really enjoyed (or hated), let me know and we will go by and give it a review. And also, they don't have to just be in Salt Lake.

School

This blog today is dedicated to Holly and Sam, being my primary reader. But I am going to treat it as more of a journal.
Well, the semester is a little more than half way over. I'm doing OK in some classes like Psychology (which I really think that class sucks for the most part, but there aren't any assignments so I don't really have to think about homework very much). Business Law is going pretty well. The professor is really nice and it's most laid back because there aren't assignments in that class either. So when we go, it's more interesting because you go to listen and there are a lot of class discussions. And it helps that the tests are open book ;)
However, Accounting and Math 1050 are kicking my butt. I'm just a little jaded for my math class, because there is absolutely no calculators involved or aloud. I understand that it's important to know how to do math without one, but when in the hell am I going to be graphing logarithms or solving them when I don't have a calculator? And when am I even going to be graphing half the crap in my life anyway? It would help if they could apply it to real life. And as far as my accounting class goes, its just hard. Good teacher, but its such a complicated class. I'm looking forward for this semester to be over. I'm just really hoping I pass my math class so I can move on and not have to take it again. I think the main problem with me is I'm lazy with studying. (SURPRISE!)
But I'm trekking on day by day.

Oreo the Kitty

This is our kitty Oreo. We've had her for about a month. She is pretty fun and full of energy. We are thinking of naming her Klutz. He is always falling off the counter and last night she burned some of her tail hair from a candle.

Heroes

Rachel and I have been forced to watch the Heroes TV show from NBC. We started renting the DVD's to watch and we've become hooked. Its much different than I thought it was going to be. It much bloodier. But thats a good thing. Anyway, we are trying to finish season one before next Monday because that is when season two starts. We have 9 more episodes left. The suspense is killing me.

Weekend Fun

For the last couple of weekends, Rachel and I have been out and about to different lakes. Two weekends ago, we went to Red Fleet Reservoir. It is commonly called 'Little Lake Powell' due to the fact that it has a very similar landscape.



But then this last weekend, we went with Rachel's family to the real Lake Powell which was really fun. I don't have any pictures as of yet, but there was this one cliff that I jumped off of that was about 40 feet ish, and I must have hit the water wrong but I may have busted my left ear drum. It's been giving me problems ever since. I can't seem to get my left ear adjusted to the altitude. It like when you go in an airplane but you can't pop your ears. It sucks and its quite bothersome. But I'll survive.
