Doubt Not, Fear Not

I had an interesting insight today at work. I got moved to a different cubicle to go on the hot-line for part of my training, and I'm at this ladies cubicle and she has lots of different pictures of family and whatnot pinned up and I looked at a particular post-it notes that said, "Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not." -D&C 6:36. Whether we are at work, house, with friends or family, Christ should be in those thoughts. And I just got to thinking about all the different reasons to doubt life or things that frighten us. For example, I'm about to go into a major life changing commitment, and there are plenty of things for me to fear or doubt it. I don't doubt who I am going to marry, but sometimes I suppose I doubt that I will be the type of person she deserves. Kind of dumb, but it happens. Or fear comes into view and there is all types of things to fear. But all in all, we should need to doubt or fear. Why? Why doubt or fear things that we don't have ultimate control. I always look at people who stress about every little thing and it confuses me because we only have so much we have absolute control. Most things take care of themselves or we simply just change to fit our circumstances. So why doubt or fear? There is no reason to doubt or fear if Christ is at the helm. I'm a big believer in this. I like to think for the most part that things will take care of themselves. Sometimes they don't. That's life. Anyway, bottom line is, with Christ, there is no reason to doubt or fear.

Christmas is over.

Christmas has come and gone, and it was a really good time. I had the experience to share Christmas with two families, mine and Rachel's. I didn't receive tons of expensive gifts but that didn't bother me at all. I got some clothes, but more importantly i got to spend time with my family. And my new family. It was very good to spend this time of year with those people i love. I also got to go skiing the day after Christmas at Brighton with Rachel's family. It was good to get back on the slopes.
