New Car

So with the passing of the poor Jeep, we added a new car to the family. It's a Mazda 3. It gets better gas mileage than the Jeep.

Deer Hunt

This past weekend was the deer hunt. We went back up east of Heber again. It was still an unsuccessful hunt for me. But I did have a exciting morning. I started off at the top of a ridge and was walking through some thick quaker trees and didn't have the best visual. I had taken a break to listen and heard up the hill from me a crash of a tree or something, so I went up that way and found a meadow and 6 or so deer that took off running when they saw me. So I tried to follow and walked up and down some canyons and when I thought I lost them, I saw them running just over a ridge. I slowly walked to the top of the ridge and they were just standing there about 75 yards away or so. So I scoped them and they were all doe's but one. It was a good sized two point, but I didn't have a good shot so I waited until they started walking towards an opening. I shot but apparently missed. I tried tracking them when they took off running but was unable to find them. In that same area my cousin Matt shot a nice 3x4. (Pictures below)

Girls Trip!

Last week my step mom Bonnie who lives in Virginia, got a timeshare in Sadona, AZ. My aunt Staci, sis Britt, and I drove down Tuesday and spent the week. Thanks Staci and Bonnie! It was a really fun trip. Sadona is beautiful. There are gorgeous red rocks and green forest trees. The weather was warm, which was perfect for sitting out by the sun. We also spent an entire day exploring the eclectic town and shopping. And what's a girls trip without the day spa? All in all, extremely relaxing. Woo for girl bonding!

The Elk Hunt

So last weekend was the annual elk, or should I say, the annual family campout because we never get anything. So needless to say, this hunt was unsuccessful. Although Dad and Greg came close. It was pretty rainy so there wasn't a lot of hiking but I did get to enjoy a nice peaceful walk in the trees.
For the first couple of days, the wives of the family came up and camped. It was a great time and we have one big tent for everyone to sleep in. Good times.

Here is a bull moose we found.

Car Wreck

I was in Heber after the elk hunt at my parents house and Rachel was driving up to spend the night. Well, some landrover flew past her and lost control and spun into the cement wall and bounced back and smashed Rachels car. Luckily, both Rachel and the dog were not injured.
