Things That Must Go

I have been an avid fan of X96's morning show "Radio From Hell" for quite a while. Well, once a week they have a feature of what they call "Thing's That Must Go". It's where they list things that just bug them and should stop. So in light to that, here is my list of things that must go.

1. Caller Tunes - why would I want to listen to whatever dumb music you want me to. I just want to hear a phone ring. That's it. Maybe I hate this so much because when I call some people for my job, I have to listen to their stupid gangsta rap song. Gay.

2. I was talking to a kid in class about sushi and recommended Sushi Ya as a great place to eat sushi. He told me, "Trust me, I'm Polynesian and I know what is good sushi and that is not good sushi." This kid has lived in Utah his whole life. What does being Polynesian have anything to do with taste. I would understand if he lived in Tonga but he didn't.

3. People on the phone in the bathroom - that totally bugs me. When you poppin' a squat, don't talk to anyone. Especially when the person you're on the phone with probably doesn't know you're dropping the kids off at the pool. Disgusting.

4. Slow people in the left lane - If you are in the left lane, you better be passing someone else. Or if you are in the left lane and someone else comes up from behind, get out of the way. Almost nothing bugs me more when I drive than slow people in the left lane. I should not have to pass on the right, as it is statistically more dangerous. I am thinking of making a sign to show as I pass that says "Slower traffic keep right."

5. Pop up ads that cover just part of the text. Like when you go to a website and they have an ad that blocks up part of the page and you have to find the x to close it. That must go.

So if you have any more suggestions of things that must go, post 'em.

Perfect Fill up

There are many things in life that you may have the opportunity to do just once. And today I accomplished one of them.
It happened when I was filling up my car with petroleum. Now whenever we go to fill up our cars, we will try to always round up to the next even dollar. Well today, I didn't have to. It stopped at an even $48.00. That's correct folks, right on the dollar. It was magical. Too bad I didn't have my camera.

Movie Review : The Dark Knight

This has been the film I've waited to see all year. After the previous Batman Begins ending hinting towards the Joker being in the next movie, I've been excited. Movies has been my thing so I've been following the details of this movie for a while and finally last night, at the midnight showing, I was finally treated for the movie-of-the-year/Best comic book movie ever. That's right, if you enjoyed Batman Begins or even Ironman, this is very much the superior movie.
It has a much darker tone. The Joker is the perfect villain because there is no cause for his terror. There is zero guilt for the things he does for people. Heath Ledger's performance is Oscar worthy.
Now some of you who read this only wait to watch movies when they come out on DVD. Don't wait for this one Sam. Go see it in theaters. A+

New Calling

So yesterday, a member of the bishopric asked to meet with us after church which meant, NEW CALLING. It's probably good to have a new calling when we don't have any at all. We've been riding that wave long enough I suppose. The only thing that we didn't want to do is to teach adults. So our new calling works perfect for us. We are on the Primary board. We don't know much about what that means other than the fact that in a couple weeks they are either going to assign us a class or we will be used as substitutes for other classes. This will be good because Rachel will be great with the children. I'll probably have to get a new animal to keep the child wanting urges down. But let's face it, to be a good primary teacher you need two things :
1.) Candy
2) hangman
I'm ready to eat candy and play hangman.

311 and Snoop Dogg in Concert!

So Monday night I went to my seventh 311 concert. And you know what? It is still just as fun as it has ever been. And this time around Snoop Dogg opened for them. I went with Kyle and my brother in law Corey. I was a little nervous as to the crowd that that might bring but I could not have been more surprised. It was probably 99.9% white fellers there. Probably his whitest crowd he has played for. It was cool just because it was Snoop Dogg, but i only knew one or two of his songs so he could have played half as long and I would have been satisfied. The real fun is when 311 took the stage.
That is not a picture of what you might think. It's a maple leaf. Snoop is from Canada.

This is us resting in between sets.

At one point in the show all the band members play the drum together. Definitely one of the coolest parts.
