MEXICO!!

Colby and I have been extremely blessed to have gone on many trips together in the short time we've been married. This vacation was definitely on the top of our fun list. My mom and Peter generously gave us this cruise to the Mexian Rivierra for our Christmas present. We got to go with them and all my siblings. It was awesome! Thanks guys!

These first pictures are of Cabo San Lucas. We got to go snorkeling. I wasn't expecting much beacuse some people told us snorkeling wasn't great here, but we were wrong! The water was pretty clear and we took a boat to this coral reef that had tons of tropical fish. I wish we had an underwater camera.

So while in Cabo, there was this little hut that had a baby tiger and lion. They said they were part of a wildlife reserve fundraising for money. So we donated money to get our picture with this cute little guy. Not really sure if this place was legit, but I couldn't resist!

In Mazatlan, Colby, Britt and I had our own little adventure horsebackriding. We also had some delicious authentic Mexican food, and played at a beautiful beach. Fun day.

Our cab driver was a little nuts and the city wasn't that pretty on the inside.

I think this was Colby's favorite day. In Puerto Vallarta we found this natural tropical jungle waterfall that had been turned into a restaurant/water park. You could slide down the waterfall and swing into the pool with a rope swing. So neat. Everyone in my family tried it. Even Corey and Lindsey who can sometimes be babies.

Oh also, our little jungle water park was also the place where the movie Predator was filmed. They thought that was super cool. Memorabilia everywhere.

Colorado Springs

This last weekend, Rachel and I traveled with my parents to Colorado Springs to see BYU play Air Force Academy. It worked out perfectly because my aunt and uncle live out there so we got to spend time with them.

The United States Olympic Committee is stationed in Colorado Springs and we went to the training center visitors center. This is where all of the athletes go to live and train for the Olympics. It was pretty cool.

This is an overview of the stadium. My uncle had inside tickets to the special luncheon for the Generals and Captains, which he gave to Rachel and I, so we got the special treatment of free food and drinks. I was lucky I was not wearing and BYU appearal because I don't think I would have made it out alive.

Before the game started, tons of cadets go on the field standing in attention. It was pretty impressive. Then they had about 6 parachuters drop from the sky. And right before the game they had a flyover right above the stadium with 3 jets. I can't remember which ones but it was loud and awesome.

After the game is over, the Air Force players go and salute the cadets and there is some song that is played, and the BYU players went and joined in giving thanks for their service.

Rugby

This last Saturday, my dad and I went to the new Rio Tinto Stadium (the new soccer stadium) in Sandy to watch some international Rugby matches. We wanted the US national team play the national team from Uruguay. After being refreshed of the rules, I found it to be a pretty awesome sport and have decided that rugby players are the toughest athletes out there. Imagine playing football with no pads. It was fantastic. For those who don't understand rugby, just imagine in elementary school when we played smear the queer (I don't know the politically correct name for the game and don't really care), it's just has organization.

The US team won. But it was really fun and the new stadium is really nice inside and I'll have to check out some soccer games next season.

ZOO!

This weekend Colby was nice enough to give up his ticket to the BYU game to spend time with me. How sweet! I really wanted to go to the zoo because I like animals and I haven't been in forever. It was a beautiful day and wasn't too crowded. Mine and Colby's favorite animal to watch was the cougar (figures). The giraffes and monkeys were really cool, too. Thanks for the zoo date!
