Today we spent the day at Yosemite. It is the first time that we have been here and it is one of the most beautiful places I've seen.
Layla was really good in the car hen she wasn't sleeping.

Sequoia National Park
This was our first trip to Sequoia NP. We didn't stay long but got a picture with the largest tree on earth by wood volume.

Growing girl
Layla is getting so big! She is six months old! She sits by herself, rolls over (but really hates to be on her tummy still), and just loves to babble and talk to you. This is a really fun age. I especially love when she gets her tired giggle fits. So freaking funny. Oh yeah and she got her bottom two teeth the beginning of July. She still gets up once or twice a night to eat. I don't mind too much because she goes right back to sleep and let's face it...she needs the food. She's so tiny!

Updates
Before I quit my job, one of my coworkers asked me what I was going to do with all my free time. I imagined days filled with cooking awesome dinners, learning new hobbies, getting my house and family organized. Yeah right. What free time? I am busy every day entertaining my little Layla bean. It is mostly so fun, but sometimes really frustrating (like when she is teething and doesn't sleep). I can't believe she is almost six months. Time going by so fast. Here are some pictures of what we've been up to lately. Summer is such a blast and so busy.
Family walk at Tanner park. Abbie's favorite off leash dog park. The water was really high and there were signs posted about dogs drowning, so she didn't get to swim that much. Layla is all covered up and napping on me.
My sister Brittany got home from serving a mission in Texas

Laughing
Layla is laughing more and more. Especially when she is tired. Here is a little video that Colby got of her. What a little giggle gut.

Life is good
Yes, it's been awhile. Life has changed for us. Colby got a new wonderful job that he loves. I got to quit my job that I hate. Woot! I love being a SAHM. Seriously, it is awesome. Yes, our baby fights sleep like crazy so sometimes I want to pull my hair out. But, mostly I am so thankful for the opportunity to watch my baby grow up and to have the time to take care of my house and family like I really want to. I will be getting a part time job here soon, so I'm going to take advantage of this precious time being job-free. Here are some pictures of the last month or so when I have been absent posting. Thanks to my mom for a lot of these. We'd hardly have any pics of Layla without her.

Mr. Mom
It is my dream to be a stay-at-home mom. Most of you probably know that two weeks before my maternity leave was up and I was going to quit my job, Colby's company went under and he found himself unemployed. So for now we are playing a little role reversal and Colby gets to be Mr. Mom. He is doing such an awesome job! It's such a positive thing for him to get some extra time to bond with Layla. He can get the best smiles and almost-laughs from her. Colby also cooks the most creative, delicious dinners. I mean DELICIOUS! I'll never be able to compete.
In December during our tithing settlement, our Bishop said a prayer with us that we would be able to make it work financially for me to stay at home with Layla. I think Colby losing his job was a blessing in disguise for us. His old job was flexible and paid well, but it didn't have benefits and was (as you can see) kind of unstable. He'll now hopefully be able to find something stable with good insurance and room to grow. Colby has got some good leads, but nothing locked up yet. Anyone know of some job opportunities? I'm so thankful for a hard working husband and a wise Heavenly Father.

2 Months
I'm a couple of weeks late posting this. Little Layla is now about 2 1/2 months old. Time is flying by! It's so strange because it feels like she's been a part of this family from the beginning. She is so sweet and brings such joy to Colby and me.
At 2 months Layla is smiling and cooing to everyone she meets. She HATES tummy time. She loves Baby Einstein. She is sleeping a stretch of about six hours at night. Hooray!! At her 2 month appt, the pediatrician was happy with her growth. She weighed 9 lbs 1.5 oz (the 10th percentile, up from the 5th when she was born). However, that weight was with a cloth diaper bum that probably added some serious ounces :). She was 22 in long. She's a tiny little ladybug, but happy and strong. One of these days I need to post a Layla fashion show. She has been gifted some seriously cute outfits. A little diva in the making.

Layla Newborn Pics
My wonderful and talented friend Becky came over and took some great pictures of Layla. Layla wasn't super cooperative, but Becky managed to get some good stuff. Thanks Becky! You can check out some of her other work at her website: http://beckyphotoblog.blogspot.com/

1 week
Layla is a week old. She is a tiny little thing. But she is doing great and even growing a chin roll :). She has had a busy week adjusting to life outside the womb. Many visitors have come to welcome our little mouse (affectionate nickname from Great Grandma). We are so lucky to have friends and family that love and support us.
At one week old Layla pretty much just eat sleep and poops. She also...
Likes to ride in the car.
Loves spending time with Daddy. She looks even smaller in his arms.
