New Car

We traded my dieing Maxima for a 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee last Thursday. I am pretty dang excited about it. It is a much better and smoother ride. Plus it can go off road. And maybe most of all, it's good for the ego.

Memorial Day Camping

This Memorial Day weekend, Rachel and I went up on Sunday afternoon up to Strawberry Reservoir. On the way up, we stopped by the parents house to grab some fishing stuff and saw Kyle there and he decided to tag along for the day. So he followed us up. I had the intentions of going to Current Creek, and thought that I was going to be able to find it. Never the less, we didn't find it and found a camp site along Trout Creek. It was fun. We mainly just hung out. Kyle and I played catch. That we fun. We also brought the Abbie and she loves the outdoors. Here are some pictures.

Movie Review : Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

So last night, Rachel and I went to the midnight shows of Indiana Jones 4. I went with great anticipation and hope, mainly because the Indiana Jones trilogy is one of my favorite series of movies. Even back in the day when technology wasn't that great, they were just down right entertaining to watch. And funny too.
So a part of me was worried that this movie would kill the franchise. And with George Lucas being a part of it, odds were against me.
So we went to the showing. I was also surprised that the audience did not cheer and shout through the whole thing like other midnight showings I've been to which was fantastic.
Now the movie itself takes place in the 1950's when nuclear weapons were developing and the country was paranoid of communism. It's a different time for Indiana. But right from the beginning the movie was fun. Nice action scenes, plus when they start their treasure hunt for the crystal skull, it sucked me in just like when they were searching for the Holy Grail. It wasn't too dry or boring in the middle but was still fun.
The only downfall of the movie (without giving away spoilers) was the very end. I will say that it was out there. Maybe too far out. But so was Raiders when God's power killed everyone. So maybe that should have been a little different but what do I know. Overall, I really enjoyed it. It entertained me. Was it realistic? No. Movies of this caliber rarely are. And as a side note, crystal skulls are actually real in Mayan history. So it has some truth to it. I give it a B+.

Narcolepsy

When we think about it, narcolepsy is kind of funny. What is even funnier is when dogs have it. Take a quick look at this video.

Restaurant Review : Town and Country Market

So last summer when Rachel was a receptionist at Patterson Dental Supply, she was told by her co-workers of a little fruit stand market thing where they make sandwiches. It's just a little mom and pop store. In fact, I don't think there is really much fruit there. Just a little deli. And so last summer we went several times together and their turkey sandwiches are fantastic. Well, today we went their for lunch today. We totally love it. I got the turkey sandwich. Phenomenal. Rachel also tried the tomato soup, of which she really enjoyed it. The address is 2840 South Main Street, Salt Lake City.
